"Amyl and the Sniffers" are the long-awaited, carefree and energetic revitalisation that has breathed new life into punk. In the very best defiantly snotty punk style, the Australian quartet around frontwoman Amyl Taylor "Amyl and the Sniffers" throws AC/DC, Cosmic Psychos, Dolly Parton and Die Antwoord into a pot and gives it a good stir. As a result, they spit out the album "Amyl and the Sniffers", named after themselves, to give punk and us another good shake. The band already proved that you can't be too perfectionist in the process with their debut album, which only took 12 hours from finding the band (which happened quickly, three quarters of the group lived together in a shared flat) to writing the songs and recording them to release. In the meantime, the Melbournians have become the spearhead of a new garage rock and punk scene and a band that, equipped with plenty of energy, rocking spirit and mullets, presents a pub punk that doesn't take itself too seriously, is infectious and still has a few surprises in store for us.
