Risen from urine and facing the future, the Trümmerratten Punk are leading the way into a new, glorious age where liquor flows with dye and prosperity reigns for all. Public transport is free and the police apparatus lies broken in the corner.
No Future was yesterday! While the commercial rat leaves the sinking ship, the rubble rats prefer to ass around in Eppendorf and poop in the residents' golf shoes. Neighbourhoods must be devalued so that housing remains affordable for all! And there's plenty else for the band from Hamburg to do: stones against fascists and books against heads, because anarchy needs education. A quick shower under the water cannon and then on to claim their place in a city full of glass and steel and fancy shopping malls, when they're not sitting in the emergency room with a triple-broken nose being refused X-rays because of "austerity measures". Lyrics from life, that is. Against German rock, the TV garden and the yuppisation of the inner cities. Underpinned with wit and irony, the Trümmerratten oscillate between pointed criticism of the prevailing conditions and sing-along booze songs and don't even stop at an advertising jingle (the inclined radio listener may have recognised it, all others should definitely check out "Detox Intox" at mixcloud.de).
Whether it's a booze band with political pretensions, or political punk with a penchant for alcohol consumption, "Anarchy and Education" is the soundtrack for the rubble pogo, the rat revolt and next summer anyway!
