Products description
Vinyl re-release of one of the forgotten jewels of Californian punk rock. SICK PLEASURE was formed in 1980 when guitarist Michael Fox, later co-owner of San Francisco's legendary punk and industrial label SUBTERRANEAN, teamed up with skaters Sal Paradise and Dave Chavez and the infamous Niki Sicki. The band lasted until 1982, when it just "wasn't fun anymore". At that point, Sick Pleasure had no material on vinyl and it seemed they would go down in history as another forgotten band of the hardcore era. The three members, except Niki, formed CODE OF HONOR and Niki formed VERBAL ABUSE in Houston. That was in late 1981 when Michael Fox's new roommate Johnithin Christ, also a singer in the SF punk band SOCIETY DOG, stepped in on vocals and formed CODE OF HONOR. In late 1982, after CODE OF HONOR had established themselves, they released a split record with songs from both bands. Melody and speed + aggression, a great record! Punk!
