Legend has it that The Blood were 'discovered' by Cockney Rejects singer Jeff 'Stinky Turner' Geggus on the top deck of a bus in Charlton. What they were doing on that bus in south-east London has never been fully explained! Anyway, it was Jeff who introduced Coming Blood (as they were then called) to Sounds journalist Garry Bushell, who was suitably impressed and offered them a place on the fourth edition of the Oi! compilation series "Oi! Oi! That's Yer Lot". Not only the punk scene, but also open-minded metalheads embraced the band, making them one of the first punk-metal crossover bands, equally at home with fans of Anti Nowhere League or Motorhead. Although The Blood's initial career was short-lived, the two singles, 12" and album they released stood the test of time. Many of the songs were later covered by bands that weren't even born when they were first recorded! Respect.
