"Tremble, tremble, the witches are back!"
After a demo and the EP "Potatoes gonna potate" released last year, BLACK SQUARE's highly anticipated debut album finally arrives with "Flowers on the Abyss".
Founded during the pandemic to give their anger about the prevailing conditions a creative framework, the two-person project, consisting of singer Fini and guitarist Bonny, quickly attracted attention with political content.
"Flowers on the Abyss" is a loud cry against Fortress Europe, which is raising its walls while people drown in the sea every day, against right-wing networks in the police, which are played down as a regrettable individual case, a swan song against patriarchal structures that oppress us all and a paean to feminist self-determination. Fini's aggressive vocals fit the message of the lyrics perfectly, guitarist Bonny drives the songs forward, and the band is supported by guest appearances by Sabrina von LÜGEN, MC Ezra, Carla K. and Schrumpelmei.
With their debut, BLACK SQUARE have delivered a strong HC punk album with highly political content that will accompany us in its topicality for quite a while. Anti-fascist, feminist and anti-capitalist! We are happy to be able to accompany BLACK SQUARE with Plastic Bomb Records, in cooperation with Keep it a Secret Records.
