Products description

Latest demo by croatian one man band Gutterskull is the perfect fusion of primitive D-Beat and raw black metal.

"Coldness of the Bunker" continues in the tradition of DIY hardcore punk bands in which KKTZ played before, doing what he knows best, but this time focusing on d-beat and the spirits of the most primitive side of black metal and first wave BM classics from the likes of Hellhammer, Sodom, Bathory and Celtic Frost. This demo exposes D-Beat mayhem to the end, with a raw intensity that celebrates primitiveness and simplicity all the way to the source of raw rock like the destructive dirt of the early The Stooges. Think about absolute and arrogant minimalism here. KKTZ's worship for and old Discharge, Shitlickers and Disclose can not only be heard in riffs, but in bleak military lyrics. Textually war is the main theme here, ruthlessness and extreme horror as a metaphor for a world in which hopelessness and struggle are all that is left. Somewhere in the background is the voice of an inhuman spirit doomed to eternal mud. While terror roams the stratagems, the inevitability of suffering does not give peace even to those who think they have taken the refuge.

KKTZ is one of the most prolific and long lasting artists from the croatian underground scene and he played in bands such as Nonsense, Fight Back, Senseless, Gruuthaagy and he also makes music under the moniker Talog and Tenebrositas now.

The visual aspect of this release has its history in the underground art scene that KKTZ has been a part of since the second half of the eighties, with roots in fanzines and through the DIY nineties, all the way to the style he uses lately as completely minimalistic, raw and expressive art as is this case here.

"In the times most horrid, the drums of war are beating."

Limited to 180 pro dubbed copies that come in either white or grey sleeves.
Co-released with KKTZ own label Olden Sonorities.
