DUNKLE TAGE are sweeping across the land, that's how it was written, that's how it was realized and that's how it still is today.
DUNKLE TAGE created a milestone in European HC punk with their stomping, sound-scaffolding, desperately aggressive vocals.
A unique selling point of the time were certainly the lyrics, which atypically "already" dealt with animal rights, for example, and used a militantly anarchistic choice of words.
It can be said that DUNKLE TAGE were one of the first German anarcho-punk bands and carried this spirit out into the world.
In their short creative phase, they recorded a total of 10 studio tracks, which are now available here in compressed form.
The full load of HC punk!
DUNKLE TAGE was formed at the end of ‘83 from the remnants of the Göttingen punk band MILZBRAND. The group consisted of Schmied on drums, Joochen - vocals, Seveso - bass, Manne - guitar. Shortly after forming, Seveso was replaced by Ome on bass. After intensive rehearsals and a few gigs, the first demo was recorded in their own rehearsal room in 1985. The first studio session for the self-produced EP ‘The Animals Can't Fight back’ followed in 1986.
The band was very keen to record their songs themselves. Without restrictions or regulations.
In 1987 the last two songs were recorded in the ‘Alternative Lübeck’, one of them (Fly Or Die) was released on the ‘Something Is Wrong’ sampler. A short time later, the band parted ways. Joochen continued to sing with SCHWARZE FEUER, who also released an EP in 1988. Schmied fought his way through various HC punk bands, including EYES OF WAR and RED WITH ANGER, and is still active today. Manne died in the early 90s and nobody really knew what Ome was up to.
The record comes with a double-sided poster insert, an elaborately designed inlay and is available in black and purple vinyl!
