Following their magnificent debut ‘Misphonia’, the long-awaited second album from the Helsinki-based post-punk/dark wave band is finally here.

On “Dyad”, you can expect a dark journey into personal and societal abysses, accompanied by a driving and highly varied soundscape of sombre harmony and melancholic despair.

[die: unru] manage to make their musical style so unpredictable that there’s never a dull moment.

From a black, shimmering morass, a melody suddenly emerges, dragging you into the depths only to whirl you back to the surface and let you drift there.

Musically, [di: unru]’s new album holds an incredible number of surprises without ever sounding muddled; I’m often reminded of Killing Joke, whilst elements of death rock and Bat Cave also make an appearance. However – and I write this with conviction – [di: unru] have managed to create their own sound, one that’s hardly easy to imitate or compare.
